The Army Silver wings kick-off the start of the 2007 GT/Army game with a perfect jump into Bobby Dodd Stadium. During a break in the game soldiers from Fort Benning who have served combat tours receive a stamding ovation from the fans.
- Lt Spruiell Tribute
2006 return of the helmet worn by Lt. Spruiell to his brother, Glenn Spruiell. Lt. Melvin M. Spruiell, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, was killed on June 11, 1944 during fighting for control of one of the causeways leading into Carentan, France. He died fighting for his country when an enemy bullet penetrated the front of his helmet. The helmet and bullet hole a moving testament to the tremendous COST OF FREEDOM paid by so many.
